What to do with an old computer

There is a well known maxim in the computer industry known as Moore’s Law. It basically describes the trend in computing power, that processors double in speed about every 2 years.  The result of this, is that the PC that you use will become obsolete before it breaks down (usually 🙂 ).

    not sure I understand the myth tv . even the site isn’t enough.

      MythTV is a program that lets you take a computer and turn it into a DVR, like a Tivo, if you have the appropriate hardware (most computer setups require a TV-tuner to be added, which are available for less than $100). It is a free, open source program (although they don’t actually distribute the program, just the source code), which can do this rather than having to pay for it.

      It is one of the best computer conversion programs available, and it actually comes with some flavors of Linux. If you want more information on it, let me know, and I’ll write a full article.
